Swing & Gyro-Matic Meridians
These styles of mountings allow the user to
rotate the globe on it's access left to right which is usual with most
mountings (example to the right). In addition, it also allows for the globe to be tilted north and south using the swing meridian as
well in order to view both hemispheres while viewing the globe from the front or back.
This is an excellent feature
for larger globes as well as desk & table globes when space and mobility
may be an issue.
