Reminiscent of parchment-colored globes of centuries past, the Weimar Globe combines classic styling with up-to-date cartography. When illuminated, the political, parchment-colored map is transformed into a warmly-lit illustration of the earth's physical features. Thousands of place names make the 20" tall, German-made Weimar Globe an excellent geographic reference tool.

This stunning model begins as a hand-blown, 16" diameter, glass sphere produced by Columbus Globe's in-house glass artisans. Next, the nostalgic, antique-style map, drafted by master cartographers, is then hand-applied to the sphere by skilled craftsmen. Finally, the superb sphere is mounted onto the elegant, brass-colored, stainless steel base and meridian, awaiting placement in your home or office, where it will forever be admired by all who behold its distinctive beauty.

5 of 5 Fabulous globe! June 8, 2014
Reviewer: James Jordan from Trinidad, CO United States
After quite a bit of research, my wife and I purchased the Weirmar Globe from Columbus and it is just amazing. The quality of the cartography, hand-blown glass, and amount of useful information is the best of any globe that we looked at. When illuminated, it is just stunning - highlighting topography - and also makes a beautiful lamp. $600 is a lot to pay for a globe to us, but this is a work of art that is useful and informative and will provide a lifetime of service and pleasure. We consider it money well-spent. Columbus is simply the best - the only negative thing to say is that they have several styles that are all so good that choosing just one was an agonizing decision. Thanks Ultimate Globes!
